Radio Performance

The growth in the radio continues as the listening performance increases by 13.9% (84.1% since re-booting live performances in October 2023).

Another fantastic increase in the listening figures for the month of December, an increase of around 21% from November figures, and a 62% increase from October when the live schedules were relaunched. Again we see a slight increase in unique listeners, and a reduced number of listening sessions, and further suggests listeners are not “channel hopping” through the directories as much as previously and they’re staying around for longer.

The USA share of listeners has increased agains from 45% (October) to 49% (November) to 59% (December), representing our large presence over the pond. Considerations are being made in how to make use of this traffic.

Actual January planned changes v actual changes

  • Production of basic radio app – developments have been made, but the project is a little more complicated than initially anticipated. This may be ready by the end of March 2024
  • Refresh autoDJ content – No changes made to the server, although some good progress made with jingles and mixes submitted to the station
  • ID3 tags to autoDJ content – No changes made to server, but this is still prioritised
  • In the background, we tweaked some strategies with our SoundCloud promotion, which ended up working quite well and had seen a noticable increase in plays / follows

 

Next months targets:

  • Further development of basic radio app
  • Develop content plan for autoDJ
  • Plan the first Strictly House interview
  • Add ID3 tags to autoDJ which helps identification of current playing set and will increase awareness on the radio directories

A lot of energy will be directed to the mobile app, with the hope of eventually bringing an audience in to the integrated chat room.

 

Future strategies

  • Bring chat functionality into mobile app
  • Planning the start of Strictly House live events, primarily within UK and Tenerife initially
  • Adding a store shop on the website, with free merchandise for DJs
  • Review SEO visibility on website to encourage organic search traffic
  • Review of social media strategies
  • Review of SoundCloud actions
  • Rollout of Strictly House interviews
